Thibaut Ann Thibaut
Carol Thibaut, 90, entered the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, at Inn at Summit Trail in Reynoldsburg.
On June 21, 1934, Carol was born in Fostoria, the daughter of William and Marguerite (Buckingham) Colwell. Carol attended and graduated from Fostoria High School. She then went on to graduate from Tiffin University earning a nursing degree.
Carol was introduced to her soulmate, Wayne Edgar Thibaut, through mutual friends shortly after Carol finished nursing school and was working in Tiffin. Wayne and Carol enjoyed 65 marvelous years together.
For over 20 years, Carol served as a dedicated nurse, providing care, comfort, and healing to countless patients. Her gentle spirit, steady hands, and calming presence brought solace to those in their most vulnerable moments. Whether tending to a patient in need or offering a reassuring word to a family member, Carol was known for her extraordinary ability to connect with people, making them feel seen, heard, and cared for.
Carol's nurturing heart extended beyond her work as a nurse. She was a loving mother, a cherished friend. She brought light into the lives of everyone she met, and her kindness knew no bounds. Family and friends remember Carol for her infectious laughter, her thoughtful nature, and the way she could always make those around her feel special. She had a rare gift for making others feel at ease, and her wisdom and warmth left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
She was a proud mother to her sons, and nothing brought her more joy than the time spent with them. One of Carol's favorite memories was snowmobiling with her sons in the stunning winter landscapes of Northern Michigan, where laughter echoed through the crisp air, and memories were made that will forever be cherished. Those trips were a reflection of Carol's spirit, adventurous, full of life, and deeply connected to the people she loved.
Carol's spare time was filled with reading novels and knitting, either at the kitchen table or in her living room.
One of her greatest joys in life was her family. She took immense pride in being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her love for each of them knew no bounds. Carol's hands worked tirelessly and with great love, knitting personalized blankets for each of her great-grandchildren. These beautiful, handmade treasures will continue to wrap them in her love and affection for many years to come. Carol's heart was as warm as the blankets she created, and her spirit was as enduring as the books she treasured.
In her later years, Carol found joy and peace in the warmth of Fort Myers, Florida, where she and her beloved husband, Wayne, and created a second home. Together, they spent countless hours walking along the beach, watching sunsets, and enjoying the quiet comfort of each other's company.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving sons, Scott (Jerri) Thibaut and Brad (Linda) Thibaut; grandchildren, Michelle (Brendan) Wampler, Melissa (Kyle) Hughes, Rachel (Nich) Stelzer, Kyle (Efe) Thibaut; great-grandchildren, Ava, Hayden, Bryson, Emersyn, and Wyatt; and nephews, Randy, Chris, and Vaughn.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne Edgar Thibaut.
