Wilfred Floyd "Bill" Kinn

Wilfred Floyd "Bill" Kinn, 75, of Fostoria, passed away at 8:47 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Sept. 16, 1948, in Tiffin, to Floyd and Erma (Schalk) Kinn, who preceded him in death. He married Carol Marie Clouse on Dec. 19, 1970, at St. Nicholas Church, Frenchtown.

Bill is survived by his wife, Carol Kinn of Fostoria; son, Rodney (Jennifer Tiller) Kinn of Holland; daughter, Shannon (Tony) Gooding of Tiffin; grandchildren, Jadyn Miller, Ava and Natalie Kinn, and Brady and Logan Gooding; sisters, Jeanette Myers of Upper Sandusky and Connie (Rick) Theis of Findlay; and brother, Allen Kinn of Arizona.

Bill was an announcer and news director for WFOB radio, Fostoria, for many years, a real estate agent with Gene Stahl Century 21, and a purchasing director with Nissan, Findlay.

Bill was a 1966 graduate of New Riegel High School and a proud part of the 1966 New Riegel High School basketball league championship team. He proudly served in U.S. Army as a medic in Vietnam from 1968-1969. In 1995, he earned an associate degree in Business from Terra Community College, Fremont. He was a life member of New Riegel American Legion, past President of Fostoria Lions Club, and past President of Fostoria Realtors.

Bill enjoyed golfing and Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, Guardians, and Ohio State sports. He also enjoyed announcing the Redmen football games with his recognizable voice. But most of all, he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting and musical events. After retirement, he and Carol enjoyed traveling to many distant places.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023, and 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, until the time of Bill's funeral at 11 a.m., all at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830. Deacon Dave Schiefer will preside. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia, with military honors provided by New Riegel American Legion.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Greater Fostoria Community Foundation or Wounded Warrior Project in care of the funeral home.
