Ronald "Ron" Dexter Babb
Ronald "Ron" Dexter Babb, 76, of Fremont, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at 10:45 pm Friday, January 31, 2025, at his home.
He was born February 27, 1948, in Fremont to the late Richard Frank and Ruth Alice (Filliater) Babb. He married Phyllis (Hopkins) Williams, and they later divorced, she survives in Findlay.
Also surviving are sons, Jamison "Jamie" (Kim Coryea) Babb of Cleveland Heights, Ryan (Ashley) Babb of Columbus, and Phillip (Rayna Kaczmarczyk) Babb of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren, Killian, Vance, Marek and Riley Babb; and a brother, Gerald Norbert Babb of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Waltermeyer and Linda Little.
Ron was a 1966 graduate of Lakota High School. He then served in the United States Army in Italy during the Vietnam War.
Ron retired as a machinist from Allied Automotive in Fostoria after 33 years of service. He then worked as a real estate appraiser for Property Analysts in Findlay for 10 years.
Anyone who knew Ron quickly learned that he had three passions: fishing for catfish, Ohio State football, and most of all, his sons, their families, and his grandchildren. During the warmer months, "Ron the Angler" spent most days fishing with friends in Sandusky Bay. A lovable grump, Ron had a quick-witted, dry sense of humor and a true love of those close to him. He is already dearly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors.
Visitation is from 11-1 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at HOENING FUNERAL HOME, 242 W. Tiffin Street,
