Martha R. Myers

Martha R. Myers, 98, of Alvada, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.

She was born March 7, 1927, in Alvada to the late Frank and Julia (Wank) Koepfer. She married Robert A. Myers on June 7, 1947, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Alvada, and he preceded her in death August 11, 2016.

Surviving is a daughter, Sharon (Mike) Ekleberry, Sycamore; and a son, Duane R. Myers, Alvada.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Yost, Clara Hoffbauer and Florence Bentz; and two brothers, Paul and Karl Koepfer.

Martha was a 1944 graduate of New Riegel High school and was the last surviving member of that class. She was also a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in New Riegel and a former member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was a homemaker who loved to bake and sew. She worked at the former Windmill Inn, Alvada where she would prepare for the buffet.

Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at HOENING FUNERAL HOME, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830, and from 12-1 p.m. Saturday at church. Funeral Mass is 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025, at All Saints Parish in New Riegel, with the Rev. Timothy Kummerer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery in Alvada. Following the burial there will be a luncheon at New Riegel American Legion.
