Lorene Parks Obituary

Lorene Parks

Lorene Parks was born November 9, 1939, in Enoree, South Carolina, to the late James Poole and Mary Rhodes Poole. Lorene entered into eternal rest to her heavenly home Monday, April 28, 2025.

Lorene, also known as "Puddin," was raised in Woodruff, South Carolina, and in 1972, she relocated with her 4 sons and husband (Reuben Parks Sr) to Fostoria, Ohio. She held various jobs in the manufacturing industry. At the age of 52, she earned her GED to emphasize to her children and grandchildren the importance of an education.

Lorene loved her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were the center of her life. She also loved having long conversations with her siblings over the phone. To love her is to know her quick wit and one-liners that would have you on your toes. She enjoyed gardening and westerns. She touched many in her lifetime, and her presence will be sorely missed.

Lorene was preceded in death by her sons, Kenny Poole, Michael Parks, and Rueben Parks Jr.; her brother, Leroy "Joe" Poole; and her sisters, Juanita Scott and Hazel Thompson.

To cherish her memories are her son, Carroll Parks (Nicole) of Laurel Maryland; two brothers, James Poole of Greenville, South Carolina, and Bobby (Ruth) Poole of Orange Park, Florida; one sister, Carolyn (Jim) Poole of Woodruff, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, Dana, Chucka, Mitchell, Stoney, Brooks (Micheal), Michael, Amanda, Christopher, and Greg; 21 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 11- noon Thursday, May 8, 2025, at First Baptist Church, 534 Lynn St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830, with services beginning at noon. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery, in Fostoria. Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, has been entrusted with arrangements.

Memorial contrib-tions may be considered to National Kidney Foundation.
