Lois Lippert Obituary

Lois Marie Lippert

Lois Marie Lippert, 90, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, after living a long and wonderful life.

Born in Wood County, she was raised and lived in Wayne until moving to the Chattanooga, Tennessee, area in 2002.

She is survived by her children of which she was a devoted and loving mother to, sons, Michael (Debbie) Byers and Gary (Sherry) Byers, both of Ligonier, Indiana, David (Barb) Lippert of Wayne, and Joel (Debbie) Lippert of St. Charles, Illinois; daughter, daughter, Lisa (Philip) Hyman of Chattanooga, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Irene Althaus of Tiffin, Sharon Fisher, of Orlando, Florida, and Kenneth "Eugene" (Doreen) Ault of Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon "Hank" Lippert; parents, Kenneth and Thelma Ault; and sister, Bonnie Everding.

Lois loved to read, plant flowers, and travel. She was a hard worker and dedicated employee. This started in high school at a local dime store and continued to do so until her retirement at age 87. Working places such as Hawthorn Melody Ice Cream, Cain's Potato Chips, and back to her real passion of retail when she started working as a cashier at Bowling Green Walmart before transferring to Soddy Daisy Walmart. She loved talking to her customers and coworkers as many of them became part of her extended family. Her family often joked that she was a local "celebrity" as people came up to talk to Lois from Walmart wherever she went. One of her proudest accomplishments was the work ethic that she passed to her children and grandchildren.

Lois' funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, at Chapel of Legacy Funeral Home with Bro. Jamey Eggert officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023, and 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Lung Association or Hospice of Chattanooga.

Arrangements are being handled by Legacy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, (423) 843-2525.

Lois and her family were the nicest neighborhood fiend...I remember having growing up in Wayne! One of my mom´s best friends...I remember my mom saying Lois visited her in Wayne not too long ago. Even though we all will miss her we are comforted in knowing she lived a long, positive, and love filled life. My condolences to Lois´s family and many friends.
