Kurt Gillig Obituary
Kurt W. Gillig, 68, of Fostoria, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
He was born December 6, 1957, in Fostoria, to the late James and Joan (Snyder) Gillig.
Surviving are siblings, Scott (Pamela) Gillig, Susan (Peter) Gillig-Grube, Jennifer Gillig, Nancy (Philip) Gillig-Greer, and Andrew (Rachel) Gillig; seven nieces and nephews; and loyal friend, Rob Gerritsen.
Kurt was a 1976 graduate of St. Wendelin High School, where he excelled as an athlete. He worked as a foreman at OH Materials and later at Nissin Brake, both in Findlay. He retired from Geary Family Fostoria YMCA. Kurt was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, loved animals and wildlife, going fishing and watching the cooking channel.
Visitation is 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830, where his funeral service will take place at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contribu-tions in Kurt's name are suggested to Geary Family YMCA in care of the funeral home.
