Joe D. Oren

Joe D. Oren, 72, of Fostoria, passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, at his home.

He was born Oct. 23, 1949, in Springfield, to Joe and Helen (DeWitt) Oren. His mother survives in Fostoria. He married Barbara (Holderman) and they later divorced and she survives in Fostoria.

Also surviving are children, Bridget (Kevin) Durbin of Fostoria, Amanda (Ryan) Endicott of Fostoria, Rory Oren of Brooklyn, New York, and Joe Oren of Tiffin; grandchildren, Sarina Oren, Tyler and Cody Rumschlag, and Addison, Ryder, and Reed Endicott; and great-grandson, Rorik Rumschlag.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jody Oren; and father, Elden Calmes.

Joe was a 1967 graduate of St. Wendelin High School and attended Heidelberg College and a community college. He retired from Allied-Signal, Fostoria, and was a member of local UAW 533.

Joe enjoyed golfing, bowling, driving at sunset while listening to music, and shooting pool. He also loved to fish, take fishing trips, and follow Cleveland Indians. But most of all, he loved his family.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830.

Mass of Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Walter Oxley presiding.
