Idonna D. Fout
Idonna D. Fout, 89, of
Grain Valley, Missouri, and formerly of Fostoria, passed away Sunday July 2, 2023, at St. Luke's East, Lee's
Summit, Missouri.
She was born Sept. 6, 1933, in Kalida, to Alphonse and Theresa (Ellerbrock) Kehres. She married Donald D. Fout in 1954 and he preceded her in death June 26, 1988.
Idonna is survived by a daughter, Annette (Robert) White of
Grain Valley, Missouri; son, Mike Fout of
Grain Valley, Missouri; two grandchildren, Brian (Sarah) Fuerstenau and Kevin (Misty) Fuerstenau; four stepgrandchildren, Chris, Casey, Audrey, and Hayden White; five great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Fout; companion, Ralph Hanley; sister, MaryAnn (Kehres) King; brother, John Kehres; and son-in-law, Russ Fuerstenau.
Idonna spent her childhood on a farm and graduated from Risingsun High School in 1952.
She worked in restaurants, grocery stores, and bars in the Fostoria area as well as worked and retired from Excello/Textron in Fostoria. She started working in Mrs. Cramer's Restaurant in high school and remarked many times that going to work there was a changing point in her life. She dreamed of having her own restaurant, but instead lent her passion to her clubs.
Before and after retirement, Idonna was involved in Carbon City Fellowship CB Club, VFW, Fraternal Order of the Moose, American Legion, Eagles, Amvets, and helped with the Red Cross.
Very important to Idonna was always being in the middle of something, having parties, and finding fun things to do. She participated in fundraisers of all kinds and put together funeral dinners at the Moose Lodge. She had officer positions in several clubs and achieved her higher degree in the Moose.
If you lived in Fostoria back in the day, you probably knew Idonna. She thrived in the social aspects of life. Driving was so important to her, starting with taking her siblings to town on the tractor from the farm. The wheels were always turning.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Hoening & Son Funeral Home, 133 W. Tiffin Street,
Fostoria, Ohio, 44830. Idonna's funeral to celebrate her life will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2023, at the funeral home. Committal services will take place at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia. A funeral lunch will then be at the funeral home.
