Grace I. Huffman

Grace I. Huffman, 92, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday morning, May 24, 2023, at her home.

She was born March 14, 1931, in Ravenna, to Oliver and Sarah (Allison) Jackson. She married Rexford W. Huffman Sr. on Jan. 16, 1949, and he preceded her in death in 1997.

Grace's survivors include her children, Patricia Steyer of Tiffin, Ken Huffman of Tiffin, Bonnie (Greg) Ramirez of Tiffin, June (Dave) Wiese of Tiffin, Joyce (Ron) Randell of Tiffin, and Scott (Terry) Huffman and Wendy (Roger) DePew, both of Martin; daughter-in-law, Vicki Huffman of Tiffin; son-in-law, Donald Arter of Tiffin; sister, Irene (Don) Jackson Schueler of Tiffin; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; children, Rexford W. Huffman Jr., LuAnn Arter, and infants, Betty Jo Huffman and Sandra Lee Huffman; siblings, Fred Jackson, Thelma Gaietto, Harold Jackson, twins Annabelle Barber and Isabell Brown, and Shirley Jacobs; and son-in-law, Len Steyer.

Grace worked in housekeeping for a few years at Mercy Hospital and at St. Francis Home for over 15 years. She resided at Kiwanis Manor for 32 years where she was very active and sang in their choir. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, was a Community Hospice Care volunteer, and member of the Red Hat Society. Grace was an alterations seamstress, enjoyed babysitting for years in her home, taking trips to Las Vegas, Arizona, and Ireland, sewing, ceramics, crocheting many afgans, and loving her pets, Miss Kitty and Duke, her bird.

Grace's funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Jan Kucera officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kiwanis Manor Bus Fund or Redeemer Lutheran Church.

The family requests that if Grace had made you an afghan, please bring it on Tuesday evening to the funeral home and the church on Wednesday for all to see.
