Doyle Comer Obituary
Doyle Clark Comer, 81, of Fostoria, passed away at 11:51 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, at Mercy Health – St. Charles Hospital in Oregon.
He was born Sept. 10, 1942, in Tiffin, to Melvin "Doc" and Martha (Shumaker) Comer. He married Marquin "Markie" Weber on March 31, 1962, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church and she survives in Fostoria.
Doyle is also survived by a son, Kevin Comer of Fostoria; daughter, Lisa Comer-Clouse of Fostoria; five grandchildren, Corrin Daniel, Sarah Comer, Ian Clouse, Austin Clouse, and Eli Clouse; great-grandchildren, Owen and Axel Clouse and Cruz and Calli Jo Clouse; two sisters, Marilyn Ottesen of Florida and Sue Durtsche of Marion; and two brothers, Steve Comer of Missouri and Dave (Vicki) Comer of Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Michael Comer.
Doyle was a 1960 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School, member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, and retired from Chrysler in Perrysburg after 30 years of service. He was a driver for SCAT, coached summer baseball in Bascom, and enjoyed working the Cleveland Indians games.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830, where a Vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Poggemeyer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Kenton.
Memorial contributions are suggested to charity of the donor's choice.
