Douglas Day Obituary

Douglas Day

Douglas "Dougie" Day, 59, of Fostoria, died Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. He was born May 30, 1965, to Bob and Zada (Mc Haffie) Day.

He is survived by his sisters, Brenda (Joe) Hernandez and Debbie Myers both of Fostoria; nephew, Nathan Day; Nieces, Megan Myers and Chelsee Hernandez; great- nephews, Nicholas Day and Nathan Day Jr.; great-nieces, Mariah Engler, MaLeeyah Pullom and Sawyer Myers; cousin and best friend, Tracy Marshall; and best bud, Charlie Groves.

Dougie graduated from Fostoria High School. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy for six years. He loved The Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, Keno, poker, cards, Texas Hold'em, and Yahtzee.

There will be no services at this time. Family will be hosting a celebration of life at a later date.

Memorial can be made to the Day Family in care of Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Doug. We served together on board the USS Simpson. Doug was part of our Repair Division, eager to learn, and a competent sailor. Rest in peace, shipmate.
