Debra Sue Hinton

Debra Sue Hinton, 69, of Fostoria, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026, at ProMedica Fostoria Hospital. She was born July 31, 1956, in Fostoria, to Ivy and Cora (Keckler) Church Sr. She married Hugh Hinton, November 5, 1988, in Fostoria, and he passed away in 1997.

She is survived by sons, Charles (Kirstin) Hinton of Tiffin and John (Pauline) Hinton of Fostoria; sister, Angie (Jim) Tyson of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren, Ellie Grace, Mason Phillip, Kylie Geneva, Loryn Lynn and Izzie Violet Hinton.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brothers, Arthur "Tom", Jerry "Ivy Jr.", and Danny Lee Church.

Debra was a 1975 graduate of Fostoria High School. She obtained an associate's degree in phlebotomy and medical assisting. She held an associate's degree in theology from the School of the Prophets in Indiana. She worked at Toledo Mold and Die Company in Carey for over 29 years. She was a member of Fostoria Assembly of God and New Beginnings Church. She enjoyed creative writing and singing and was in the church choir. Debra was a Sunday school teacher and a recess and lunch monitor for Findlay City Schools. She enjoyed watching children grow and develop. She was a devoted grandmother. She loved gardening around her house. She was a volunteer for CERTS First Responders, siren checks and the voting booth.

Graveside funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm. Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Veterans Memorial Chapel at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
