Shawn Bodle

Shawn Bodle, 40, passed away suddenly in his home at Tiffin Developmental Center, Monday, March 16, 2026. He was born November 21, 1985, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, to Harold Yost and Theresa Spencer.

Shawn Bodle resided at Tiffin Developmental Center on the Nevada West home. He was beloved by many and a central figure at TDC. He was well known and equally loved by residents and staff. Shawn had employment on TDC's campus, supporting various departments.

Even when Shawn wasn't working, he was often going around TDC's campus doing his rounds. You could hear his radio playing his favorite music all across campus. He would regularly greet people with his loud, extended "Gooood Morning", paired with a just as equally loud laugh and smile. He loved being outside, fishing, biking and anything that he could do to be outside. He loved TDC's campus, and you could always tell where he was putting down his roots for the day by his ring of bright orange safety cones.

He is survived by his mother, Theresa Spencer; his father, Harold Yost; his half brother, Jamie McIntosh; and many friends at TDC. Words cannot fully explain how much the staff and residents of TDC will miss Shawn.

A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the chapel at Tiffin Developmental Center, 600 N Township Road 73, Tiffin, OH 44883; all are welcome.
