Angela Windau Obituary

Angela D. Windau

Angela D. Windau, 49, of LaGrange, passed away surrounded by her loving family at the Elms Retirement Village in Wellington as the result of cancer.

She was born Feb. 8, 1974, in Fostoria, to Gerald and Kathleen (Hoover) Windau. Angela received her Bachelor's degree in 1998 from Bowling Green State University. She worked for NASA as a Certified Industrial Hygienist where she was awarded numerous accolades, including the Silver Snoopy Award and Exceptional Achievement Medal in 2010. Some of Angela's personal accomplishments include competing in numerous triathlons and marathons from 2011-2014 including the Beach to Battleship Half Ironman in 2012. However, Angela's proudest achievement in life was giving birth and raising her son, Noah. Angela loved spending time outdoors biking, paddle boarding, kayaking, and hiking with her family and dogs. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Angela's survivors include her son, Noah Weaver; parents; twin brother, John (Christina) Windau; niece, Hannah Windau; and former husband, Hal Weaver.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, at Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57), Elyria. Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 708 Erie Street, Grafton (please meet at church). The Rev. Father John P. Seabold will officiate. Burial will be private.

Memorial contributions can be sent to the V Foundation, 14600 Weston Parkway, Cary, North Carolina, 27513, or the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home, Elyria.

There are so many things I will miss about you Angela, your professionalism, willingness to support in anyway you could, and you smile. May you rest in peace and enjoy the paradise of heaven. I will think of you often and remember you and Noah in my prayers.
