William Smith Obituary
William P. Smith Sr., 80, of Fostoria, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at ProMedica Fostoria Hospital. He was born May 30, 1944, in Carey to Paul and Nora (Myers) Smith. He married Patricia Craley, December 5, 1970, in Fostoria.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Smith, of Fostoria; son, William (Barb) Smith Jr. of Fostoria; daughter, Anna "Annie" Cross of Fostoria; grandchildren Alan, Rebecca, Samuel and Chelsea; great-grandchildren, Izzy, Chloe, Stella, Marcus, Maci and Rustyn.
William is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jennifer Smith; brother, Daniel Smith, and sister, Sue Hanley.
William worked for Farmland Foods, and he graduated from Carey High School. He was a High Street United Methodist Church member and enjoyed fishing, camping and the outdoors.
Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2025, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with Pastor James Sharrett and Pastor Duane Kemerley. Visitation will be from 10-12 p.m. prior to services.
Burial will take place at Union Cemetery, West Independence, at a later date.
Memorials can be made to High Street United Methodist Church, Fostoria.
