William D. Nonnemaker

William D Nonemaker, 86, of Wayne, died unexpectedly Monday, May 5, 2025.

William met and married his first wife, Gaytha Sanders, in 1957, and they later divorced, she survives. They had four children, all surviving, Sheryl (Terry) Losey of Maumee, Jeff (Nancy) Nonnemaker of Columbus Grove, David Nonnemaker of Wayne and Lorena (David) Kruse of Deshler; stepson, Andy Puckett; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bill later married Judy Puckett of Fostoria in 1984. Judy passed away January 4, 2024. He was also preceded in death by a stepson, Allen Puckett, and a stepdaughter, Kathy Vanhoose.

Bill was a man of many talents. He owned his own company, Nonnemaker & Sons Asphalt Paving. He later worked for 25-plus years as superintendent for ODOT, Ohio Department of Transportation, where he retired. He owned his own farm, so he had farming to keep him busy, along with his business and job with ODOT. Bill also loved gardening. He would have big gardens to tend to along with everything else. He loved doing hair for the ladies. He was very good with perms and coloring or just putting your hair up and rollers to give a nice doo! Bill loved people, helping people in need, and would give the shirt off his back kind of guy. He was deeply loved by his children, stepson, and grands and will be missed by all.

Funeral Service will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with Pastor Charles Talley officiating. Burial will be at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria. Visitation will be from 10-12 p.m. prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to Wood County Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
