Wilbur "Jack" Fillhart

Wilbur "Jack" Fillhart, 87, of Fostoria, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, at his home.

He was born Feb. 13, 1935, in Fostoria, to Harry and Ruth (Stykemmain) Fillhart. He married Carol Thomas and they divorced. He then married Mayilyn Ponn in 1985 and she passed away in 2005.

Jack is survived by his sons, Larry (Yuki) Fillhart of Okinawa, Japan, Don Fillhart of Tacoma, Washington, Michael (Amy) Fillhart of Bradner, and Jim (Lori) Ponn; daughters, Roxanne (Steve) Traucht of Findlay and Tamara (John) Frankart of Pemberville; sisters, Patricia Martin of Fostoria, Barbara Chamberlin of Tennessee, and Clara Zimmerman of Fostoria; grandchildren, Cindy, Mike, Cassie, Tomi, Nick, Michael, Daniel, Lauren, Christopher, Shaun, Robbie, and Travis; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and sons, James, Richard, and Robert Fillhart.

Jack retired from U.S. military with more than 20 years, serving in U.S. Marine Corps, Air Force, and Army. He was a member of VFW and enjoyed camping and hunting. He was truly a "Jack" of all trades.

Jack's funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with Pastor Mark Self officiating. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Knollcrest Cemetery at a later date.
