Timothy Cotterman Obituary

Timothy Lee "Tim" Cotterman

Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, Timothy Lee Cotterman (Tim) passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. Tim was born Sept. 14, 1952, to the late Max and Sarah (Wolaver) Cotterman in Sidney. April 4, 1975, he married the love of his life, Sara Madonna Fleckenstein. They were married for 49 years and 256 days.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sara Cotterman; and their four children and spouses, Susan (Kevin) Wagner of Fostoria, Melissa (Craig Bruns) Cotterman of Greenville, Lynette (James) Ross of New Bremen, and Brad (Julie) Cotterman of Sidney. Tim is survived by 10 grandchildren, Summer, Cole and Katherine Wagner, Shelby and Max Shafer, Alayna and Darren (DJ) Ross and Bailey, Olivia and William Cotterman; and one great-grandchild, Kaulder Sweigard. Tim is also survived by his siblings, Vicki Slife, David (Dracena) Cotterman and Eugene Cotterman. Additionally, he's survived by his in-laws, Ted and Linda Fleckenstein, Carol Fleckenstein, Tim and Doris Hoying, Mary Knapke, Don Clune and Bill and Ann Thieman.

Tim was welcomed into heaven by his parents, and his brother, Rodney Cotterman. Tim was preceded in death by in-laws Louis Knapke, Ralph Fleckenstein, Pat Fleckenstein, and Alice Clune; brother-in-law, Gene Slife; and his nephews, Philip Thieman and Steve Knapke.

Tim graduated from Sidney High School in 1971 and attended ITT Technical Institute to obtain his associate degree in Tool Engineering Technology. Tim worked for Stolle Corporation, Stolle Precision Tool and Minster Machine. For the last 27 years Tim has been the owner of Selmco Metal Fabricators in Sidney. He attended Only Believe Ministries in Botkins, Ohio.

Tim could build anything and was always busy doing some kind of project. Tim loved to fish, camp, and play golf, but he really enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren at their sporting events. He was so very proud of his entire family, and he loved when the family was all together and we would all bring good food for him to eat, but he never liked sharing his pie.

Calling hours will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, and at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, at Adams Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.

In lieu of flowers, you can donate to any charity of your choice.
