Sandra J. "Sandy" Kitchen
Sandra J. "Sandy" Kitchen, 87, of Catawba Island, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025. Born March 11, 1938, in Fostoria to the late Gilbert and Leona Reinhart.
Sandy lived a life marked by enduring love and commitment. She shared over 65 years of marriage with her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Dennis Kitchen.
Although she was petite in stature, she was a mighty force, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit. At the age of 16, she began her career in the insurance industry, eventually founding her own successful agency, Kitchen and Associates, in the Detroit area. Her relentless work ethic and commitment allowed her to build a flourishing business. After retiring, Sandy and Dennis embarked on their dream life, traveling the country and the world and creating lasting memories along the way.
As a grandmother, Sandy will be remembered by her grandchildren as an elegant lady who brought warmth and grace to every moment. She adorned her life with style and love of beautiful jewelry. She encouraged her grandchildren to work hard, love their family and find pleasure in the simple things that life has to offer.
She cherished her husband, Dennis; her two sons, Gregory (Julie) Kitchen and Christopher (Lori) Kitchen; her six grandchildren, Makenzie (Jon) Zaremba, Madison Kitchen, Cameron Kitchen, Trisha Kitchen, Spencer Kitchen, and Breanna Kitchen; and her four great-grandchildren, Harlow Fisher, Jameson Zaremba, Brekan Zaremba, and Jordyn Savaya.
Sandy's legacy lives on through her family, whom she adored. She often told her children, "You'll never really know just how much I love you until you have kids of your own someday."
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Carolyn (Paul) Wagner and Lois Roth; and her brother, Wayne (Norma) Reinhart.
