Ruth Hubbard Obituary
Ruth A. Hubbard, 83, of Fostoria, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Kingsbury Place in Defiance.
She was born Nov. 30, 1939, to Harvey and Mary (Eckert) Nye. She married Loyal D. Hubbard on Oct. 25, 1958, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, and he died Aug. 23, 2005.
Ruth is survived by a daughter, Diane (Lee) Rausch of Defiance; son, Richard Hubbard of Fostoria; nine grandchildren, Joshua (Jamie) Krupp, Sarah Trent, Jennifer (Chris) LaBoe, Kaitlynn (Charles) Prezzia, Abbigail (Charles) Moeller, Madison Rausch, Christine (William) Thompson, Laura Hubbard, and Richard Hubbard; 25 great-grandchildren, soon to be 26; and brother, John Nye of Fostoria.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Laura (Kevin) Krupp.
Ruth was a 1958 graduate of St. Wendelin High School and life-time member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. She worked at Excello, local EMS ambulance service, and Fostoria City Schools as a teacher aide.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Hoening & Son Funeral Home, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830, where a Vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Ruth's funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2023, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Joseph Poggemeyer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery. A funeral luncheon will follow in the Parish Hall at St. Wendelin Church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Wendelin Catholic Church or Steps for Sarcoma in care of the funeral home.
