Ronald Paul Dean

Ronald Paul Dean, 72, of Risingsun, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Paintsville, Kentucky, Monday, February 24, 2025.

Ronald was born August 9, 1952, in Wood County, Ohio, to the late Elmer Willard Dean and Nina Delores Walters Dean. He was a bricklayer, an avid hunter and trapper, and he enjoyed fishing and had a green thumb. He devoted his life to learning about medicinal flowers, roots, & bark and began harvesting them for pharmaceutical use.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Enright; his sister, Patty Dean Ritter; his brother, Allen Dean; four great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Punky.

He is survived by his son, Brian Michael Dean of Stambaugh, Kentucky; his two daughters, Jenny (Mitchell) Merritt of Toledo and Jessica Myers of Paintsville, Kentucky; two stepdaughters, Rhonda (Jerry) Logsdon of Toledo and Beth (Wallace) Houston of Hagerhill, Kentucky; seven brothers, Jerry (Jeannie) Dean of Bradner, Roger Dean of Fostoria, Michael Dean of Andersen, Indiana, Randy Dean of Risingsun, Robert (Rose) Dean of West Millgrove, Thomas (Cathy) Dean of Toledo, and Timothy (Tammy) Dean of Risingsun; two sisters, Linda Dean Bowman of Risingsun and Suzanne Dean Thomason of West Millgrove; and brother-in-law, Raymond Ritter of Fremont.

A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Risingsun Community Building. All family and friends are welcome for fellowship and a buffet-style meal.
