Robert Hopkins Obituary

Robert E. "Hoppy" Hopkins

Robert E. "Hoppy" Hopkins, 80, of Fostoria, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Windsor Lane Health Care in Gibsonburg.

He was born October 16, 1944, in Bradford, to the late John W. and Verna E. (Thompson) Hopkins. He married Della Bauman on November 5, 1966, in North Baltimore, and she survives in Fostoria.

Also surviving are three daughters, Brenda (Garfield) Lovejoy, Fostoria, Dawn (fiancée Brian Gifford) Thomas, Akron and Robbi Hopkins, Fostoria; grandchildren, Robert, Randall, Rodney, Ryan, Breanna, Rebecca (Stephen) Overmier, Josephine, Matilda and Lucinda; great-grandchildren, Jake, Addalyn, Thaeden and Garrett; sisters, Betty Schooner, Bowling Green and Edna Nichols, Green Springs.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, John, Richard, Bill, Jackie and Norman Hopkins; and a sister, Patty Oliver.

Hoppy worked at McComb Lumber as a laborer where he retired after 30 years of service. He enjoyed harness racing, watching wrestling, playing the lottery and listening to music, especially Dolly Parton and Tina Turner.

Memorial visitation is 3-6 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2025, at MANN-HARE-HOENING FUNERAL HOME, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family's choice in care of the funeral home.
