Patricia Beeson Obituary

Patricia A. Beeson

Patricia A. Beeson, 95, of Fostoria, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria. She was born September 5, 1930, in Urbana, to James W. & Kathryn Kinsey Travis. She married James L. Beeson, June 19, 1948, at Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria. James passed away February 19, 2016.

She is survived by children, Deborah (Daniel) Sczesny, James T. (Jackie) Beeson, Michael (Sheryl) Beeson, and Beth (Tom) Nahm; grandchildren, Shannon (Gary) Bozigar, Daniel (Sandra) Sczesny, J.C. (Lisa) Beeson, Amber (Seth) Cain, Kathryn (Justin) Zeyen, and Natalie (Matt) Martin, 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild expected in December to Abby and Tyson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Christopher M. Beeson; great-grandson, Mark A. Cain; and a son-in-law, Nick Zeyen.

Pat was a 1948 graduate of Fostoria High School. She worked as a self-employed seamstress and also as a kindergarten aide at Holmes Elementary School in Fostoria. Pat taught many children how to swim at the Fostoria YMCA. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria, Trinity Lutheran Church in Arcadia, and, most recently, attended Jonah's People Chapel at Good Shepherd Home. Pat and her husband, Jim, were team leaders for Lutheran Marriage Encounter groups and Koinonia Christian Retreats.

Pat grew up in a family of actors. Her grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins were part of Kinsey Komedy Kompany, which was a traveling tent show. The Kinsey Komedy Kompany traveled across Ohio, the Midwest, and even to California, performing vaudeville-type plays. Fostoria was a common stop for Kinsey Komedy Kompany. Pat's debut was in Uncle Tom's Cabin at the age of 5.

During their retirement years, Pat and Jim became involved with Lutheran Mission Builders, an organization that helps mission congregations build churches. They traveled all over the US, including Hawaii. Pat and Jim were also involved withAmerican American Red Cross disaster team, traveling to Florida, West Virginia, New Orleans, California, and the Ohio River area, which were recovering from natural disasters. They were both chairs of World Hunger Relief Synod Committee of NWO. Pat served on the organizational committee and board of directors for Habitat for Humanity and contributed to the building of several habitat homes in the area. Pat was involved with Fostoria Historical Society and "As Eye See It" (low vision group). Pat was a woman of faith. The greatest gift she gave her children was planting the seed of faith to love the Lord and to follow the path He had chosen for them. She was a woman with a servant heart, filled with kindness, joy, and love. Over her lifetime, Pat planted many seeds of faith in the hearts of people she encountered. During her years at Good Shepherd Home, Pat was an exemplary model of what it meant to be a faithful servant of the Lord. She would read Bible passages to workers and even gave a Bible to a young aide who was having some personal struggles. Well done, good and faithful servant.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria, with Pastor Robin Kapostasy officiating. Burial will be at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia. Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. prior to service at the church. Memorial service will be at a later date at Good Shepherd Nursing Home for residents and staff who knew Pat.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Jonah's People Chapel at Good Shepherd Home or Fostoria Historical Society.
