Mildred Naderer Obituary

Mildred "Millie" Naderer

Mildred "Millie" Naderer passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, surrounded by family and her faithful companion of 10 years, her Pomeranian, Buddy.

She was born Feb. 27, 1925, in Fostoria, to Helen (Hoffbauer) and Ralph Finsel.

She is survived by her in-law siblings, Paul and Kate Naderer, Marcie Naderer, and Elva Finsel.

She was preceded in death by six siblings, Norman (Elva) Finsel, Ursula (Daniel) Maciejewski, Mary (Herbert) Gabel, Barbara (Edward) Zoltanski, Charles (Martha) Finsel, and Catherine (Marvin) Nofziger; and eight of Dutch's siblings, John (Irene) Naderer, Ann (Herman) Frankart, Louis (May) Naderer, Mary Catherine Naderer, Helen (Lawrence "Red") Gutschalk, Betty (Francis "Shorty") Ochs, Agnes (Bernard) Boes, and Peter (Marcie) Naderer.

Millie married Hubert "Dutch" Naderer on Jan. 27, 1951, who has been awaiting her heavenly arrival since 2005. They are parents to Susan (Richard) Fronopfel, Joseph (Marie) Naderer, Mary (Dale) Smith, James (Janice) Naderer, Emily (David) Finsel, Julia (Robert) Byard, and Laura Simonini. Millie is the devoted grandmother of Brett, Tal, Rishara, Ben, Erin, Kathleen, Colleen, Christine, Sara, Anna, Ciara, and Gus, and great-grandmother to Maeve, Nova, Reason, William, and Chloe. She is also a cherished aunt to dozens of nieces and nephews and friend of many.

Millie was a life-time member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and 1943 graduate of St. Wendelin High School. While single, she worked as a secretary in Fostoria and Cleveland. After marrying Dutch, she was a homemaker, mother, and farmer. She loved her flowers and vegetables and gardened her entire life. Millie volunteered with numerous organizations including 4-H, St. Wendelin Church, American Red Cross, Fostoria Soup Kitchen, and Amsden Methodist Church. Millie prayed the rosary daily with special intentions "for anyone who needs a prayer." She was always ready to cook or help anytime someone needed a hand. Her easy smile, quick wit, adventurous spirit, and perpetual caring nature will be greatly missed.

Millie's children wish to thank those who made it possible for Millie to remain in her Fostoria home. We are grateful for her caregivers of several years, Linda Holman and Donna Thompson, and more recently, Barbara Patterson and Ohio Living Hospice, and to Sr. Liz Garcia for all she did. We are also very grateful to our spouses, children, and each other. Although Mom did not designate a specific charity, she personally gave to St. Wendelin Church, Fremont St. Joseph Education Fund, and Society for Propagation of the Faith. Other suggestions are financial contributions to National or Local Kidney or Diabetes non-profit organizations, or cook a meal for someone who is sick, pray, or act to repair a hurt relationship or try something new.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at Hoening & Son Funeral Home, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830, where a Vigil will take place at 7:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, with the Very Rev. Joseph Poggemeyer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery.
