Mary Linda Unger

Mary Linda Unger, 83, of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness Saturday, March 28, 2026, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.

Linda was born in Coalport, Pennsylvania, March 2, 1943, to the late James Edward and Alberta Mae (Thompson) Wheeler. She married James A. Unger in Tiffin, June 6, 1964, and he preceded her in death September 21, 2020.

Survivors include her son, James Unger of Fremont; a daughter, Chris (Paul) Walsh of Wisconsin; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild on the way; and a brother, Ed (Linda) Wheeler of North Carolina.

Linda was the owner and operator of Amish Country Deli in Fremont and a print shop in Tiffin. Linda also worked as a printer for Terra Community College and was a member of Victory Church in Fremont. Linda earned her bachelor's degree in business from Tiffin University. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking and praying for others. Linda was very hard to buy anything for, and if you asked her what she collected, she would tell you she collected DUST.

Linda was preceded in death by her brother, David Wheeler and a sister, Diana Wagner.
