Keith L. Kirchner
Keith L. Kirchner, 87, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
He was born Dec. 18, 1935, in Tiffin, to Herbert L. and Hazel Ruth (Neibel) Kirchner. He married Mary Maureen "Mo" Holmes on Dec. 22, 1956, in St. Helens, England.
Keith's survivors include his wife, Mo Kirchner of Tiffin; son, Keith (Maria) Kirchner of Tiffin; daughters, Lynn (Rich) Zeis, Karen (Mike) Shaffer-Burlile, Lori (Jeff) Thompson, and Lisa Kirchner, all of Tiffin; sister, Betty Wertz of Bascom; 10 grandchildren, Nic Zeis, Brad Shaffer, Erin Shaffer, Erica Moyer, Josh Carter, Megan Fiorello, Alexandra Chiarappa, Corey Thompson, Jared Thompson, and Claire Thompson; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews in both America and England.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Herbert Kirchner Jr., John G. Kirchner, and Robert Kirchner; and sister, Phyllis Shook.
Keith was a 1953 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and attended Tiffin University. After graduation, he served in U.S. Air Force and was stationed in England, where he met the love of his life, Mary Maureen. He was honorably discharged in 1957. Keith was a simple man who loved being together with his wife and loved spending time with all of his family. He enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren's sporting events, gardening, and decorating his home for the seasons. Keith was an Ohio State University fan and always enjoyed watching his Buckeyes play football. Keith believed in Tiffin and he proudly served his community for 37 years on Tiffin City Council as 2nd Ward Councilman, Councilman-at-Large, and council president. He was a member of St. Joseph Church. Throughout his career, he was a plumbing and electrical salesman for area wholesalers and after retiring, he worked part-time for Tong's Plumbing.
Funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Anthony Coci officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military honors being conducted by United Veterans Council.
Friends may visit with the family 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St.,
