Josie Diaz Obituary
Josefina "Josie" Diaz, 74, of Harlingen, Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born to Juan C. and Juanita (Balderas) Martinez, Josie dedicated her life to nurturing others and will be most remembered for the quiet strength she carried through life. Family was the center of Josie's world. She found immense joy in spending time with her children, beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, filling their lives with laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Ruben of Providence Village, Texas; and her loving children, Barbara (Jason) Daigle, Dracut, Massachusetts, Melissa (Jason) Tuttle, Veronica Diaz, The Colony, Texas, and Abram (Amber) Diaz, Providence Village, Texas. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Elijah, The Colony, Texas, Jaylin, Providence Village, Texas, Tristan, Burlington, Massachjsetts, Isabella, Frisco, Texas, Josiah, The Colony, Texas, Madison, Prosper, Texas, Micaela, Dracut, Massachusetts, Miandrea, Lilliana, and Christian, Providence Village, Texas; and her great-grandchildren, Ada Jane and Ellie Ann, Providence Village, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan C. and Juanita Martinez; her sisters, Francis, Terri, and Connie; her brother, Marty; and her son-in-law, Jeff Tuttle.
Visitation is 4:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830, where a rosary will prayed at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, 323 N. Wood Street, Fostoria, Ohio 44830, with the Rev. Krzysztof Kardzis presiding and Deacon Alfredo M. Diaz assisting. Funeral Mass will be live-streamed via St. Wendelin Parish Facebook page. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery. Funeral luncheon and gathering will take place in the parish hall at church.
Memorial contribu-tions are suggested to St. Wendelin Education Foundation in care of the funeral home.
