Janice K. (Mosier) Comeskey

Janice K. (Mosier) Comeskey, 87, of Lima, passed on to a new life Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at Lima Convalescent Home.

She was born Feb. 7, 1935, in Fostoria, to Audrey and Grace Mosier. She married Donald A. Comeskey of Tiffin in 1954.

He survives her along with three children, Allen (Rebecca) Comeskey of Bluffton, Kathryn (Chris) O'Donnell of Fishers, Indiana, and John (Jen Larew) Comeskey of Kettering; two grandchildren that she took great joy in, Michael O'Donnell and Laurel (O'Donnell) Blough; two great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Joel Blough; and brother, Carl Mosier of Florida.

Janice was a student and high school graduate of Fostoria Schools, graduating in the class of 1953. She went on to take a few business courses at Tiffin University. She used her secretarial skills as the church secretary of First Lutheran Church, Tiffin. Later, she became church secretary of Zion Lutheran Church, Lima. She modernized both church offices by introducing computer software. She was continually active in church life, singing in the choirs, organizing funeral luncheons, and providing faithful service in the Church United Pantry (CUP Pantry) of Lima.

Janice loved to host family dinners and was known to everyone as an expert pie-baker. In her last month of life, Janice accepted the outcome of a 12-year battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church, 1300 Edgewood Dr., Lima, Ohio, 45805.
