James Leisenring Obituary

James Kyle Leisenring

James K. "Jim" Leisenring passed away Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023, in Cedar City, Utah, due to failing health.

He was born Feb. 23, 1949, in Fostoria, and graduated in 1967. His parents were Gerald C. and Margaret N. (Wehr) Leisenring.

James is survived by his sisters, Barbara A. (Phillips) Stover of Fostoria, Linda L. (Leisenring) Kirchner of Florida, and Diane L. (Leisenring) Bicklehaupt of Findlay; and many nieces and nephews who were always thrilled to see him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald L. Phillips of Indianapolis, Indiana; and sisters, Sandra K. (Leisenring) Kroetz of Fostoria and Brenda S. (Leisenring) Roche of Georgia.

Jim was an avid fisherman and an all around outdoorsman. He loved traveling, making it to all but a few states. Jim served in U.S. Army from 1969-1971, mostly in Vietnam. He was awarded several medals, among them the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal with "V" device, the Air Medal, and the Combat infantryman Badge.

His smile and memories of him will be with us always.
