Irene Helen Calvin Painter

Irene Helen Calvin Painter passed away Monday, Oct. 23, 2023.

She was born in 1932 in Cranesville, Pennsylvania. Her parents and brother, Virgil, preceded her to Geaven. Gerry Smith, her sister, lives in Melbourne, Florida. Her brother, Edward Calvin, and his wife, Olivia, live in Chelsea, Alabama.

Irene graduated from Springboro High School in 1950 at the top of her class. She met her husband, Richard Painter, at Westinghouse, where they both worked. They were married in 1958. They first lived in Sharon, Pennsylvania, then moved to Louisville, Ohio, and finally settled in Tiffin, where they lived for over 40 years and raised their two daughters, Lynne (Ron) Noark and Jill (Brian) Watson. Richard succumbed to ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) in 2002.

Irene graduated from Heidelberg College in Tiffin in 1974 with high honors. She taught at Hopewell-Loudon for 17 years. When both Irene and Richard retired, they traveled with friends. Irene was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Tiffin for over 50 years. In 2017, Irene became a full-time Florida resident in Brooksville, Florida, to be closer to her daughters and sister. She enjoyed genealogy, reading, crafting, shopping, and scrapbooking.

Irene will be missed by her siblings; children; four grandchildren, Matthew Noark (Alexis), Elizabeth Noark, and Daniel and Samuel Watson; great-granddaughter, Payton; friends; and 11 nieces and nephews and their children.

To live a life so full is truly a blessed life!
