Hope I. Bogard
Hope I. Bogard, 66, of Upper Sandusky, passed away Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, with her family by her side.
She was born Dec. 9, 1956, in Tiffin, to the late Early W. and Bernice M. (Hunt) Shinn.
Hope met the love of her life, Michael, while in junior high, and they married Oct. 9, 1976. Together, they had three children, Michael (Lisa) Bogard II of Upper Sandusky, Lori (Joseph) Cusac of
Ionia, Michigan, and Adam Bogard of Upper Sandusky, and six grandchildren, Kylie Bogard, Peyton Bogard, Henry Cusack, William Cusack, Thomas Cusack, and Allanah Cusack.
Hope is also survived by a brother, Keith Shinn of McCutchenville and sister, Donna (Randy) McKee of Virginia.
Hope was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Hall.
Hope was a 1975 graduate of Mohawk High School and 1992 nursing school graduate of Marion Technical College. She cared for many patients while working in intensive care units within Marion General Hospital, Riverside Methodist Hospital, Grant Medical Center, and Ashland Samaritan Hospital.
Hope was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She cared deeply for her family, friends, and community, always providing support and love and placing others needs in front of her own. She ensured that every child who entered her home was safe, healthy, happy, and well-fed.
Hope loved spending time in the kitchen, making delicious meals for her husband, family, and friends, or canning jams and spreads with items from her garden for her church community.
Hope was strong in her faith. She was a member and chairman of the board for Crawford Church and supporter of Love-In-Action. When she set a life goal, she always followed through. Hope was able to take her dream trip to Colorado just months before her passing. Always a country girl at heart, she could out match anyone with a handgun when target shooting.
Hope was proud of her family and cherished all the moments of life. She leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
Hope's family is choosing to remember her in a way that honors her spirit and brings together her family and friends.
Her husband and children invite all who wish to share in remembrance of Hope to attend a celebration of life ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Crawford Church, 11998 Township Hwy 29, Carey. A celebration will follow at Camp Trinity, 8812 Co Hwy 50, Upper Sandusky.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crawford Church Love-in-Action Fund in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home, 226 E. Wyandot Ave.,
