Gerald Schock Obituary

Jerald Louis "Jerry" Schock

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Jerry Schock on Sunday, January 5, 2025. He was born March 3, 1945, in Tiffin to Gilbert and Erma (Kleinfelder) Schock.

Jerry spent his early years in Tiffin. He graduated from Calvert High School in 1963. He then worked at National Machinery in the pattern shop before moving to Visalia, California, in 1978.

His son Jerry Jr. and daughters, Lori (Schock) Starkey and Denise (Schock) Boyd were born in Tiffin. He served for 19 years in the Ohio National Guard before relocating to California where he continued his profession as a pattern maker.

He was married to his current wife, Daisy, for 35 years, and they shared a loving relationship for over 40 years. Together they ran a camper club creating numerous memorable adventures for themselves and others. Jerry possessed a unique ability to connect with everyone he met.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Daisy; daughters Lori and Denise; stepdaughters, Sherri Mock and Angela Sanders; grandchildren, Noah Gilstrap and Samantha Starkey of Texas and Corbin Annis, Kyle Annis, Nicholas Sanders, and Shyan Sanders of California. He also is survived by a sister, Marylou (Burt) Moore of Fort Worth, Texas; and a brother, Joe (Dorothy) Schock; and sister-in-law, Sue Schock, all of Tiffin.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; a son, Jerry Jr.; two brothers, John and Jim Schock; and two sisters, Marge (Anthony) Kasavage and Marilyn (Sissy) Schock.

His funeral service and celebration of life remembrance took place with family and friends at their home in Visalia.

This is a wonderful capsule of my brother´s life. However, I did notice his name is spelled with a G in the heading but correct in the text. All the boys´ names began with J and all the girls with M. Family tradition I guess. Even though we lived far apart we kept in touch and got together when we could. His story telling and joking will be greatly missed.
