Dean Roy Earl

Dean Roy Earl, 92, of Findlay, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

He was born Dec. 30, 1930, in Berwick, to Charles and Nora (Bloom) Earl.

Dean proudly served in U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his service, he married his first wife, Mary C. Earl, and she preceded him in death in 1968. He married Betsy (Swinehart) Earl on Nov. 1, 1975, and she survives in Findlay. Dean worked at Whirlpool in Findlay as well as Dow Chemical. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a volunteer firefighter in Van Buren, member of Eagles in Fostoria, Findlay Moose, and was a life member of the Masons in Fostoria. He enjoyed collecting many things throughout his life. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Findlay.

In addition to his wife, Dean is survived by his children, Debra (Stephen Smith) Earl, Dennis (Priscilla) Earl, Kandy (Ed) Schutzman, Jim Conley, Jeff (Debbie) Earl, Arlene Nickless, Darlene Eherenman, Cathy Earl, and John Benedict; brother, Paul Earl; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Anthony "Tony" Earl; and siblings, Ervin, Ray, Dorothy, Bernice, Edith, Ethel, and Sarah.

Visitation for family and friends will be 12 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, until the time of Dean's funeral at 2 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 W. Sandusky Street, Findlay, Ohio, 45840, with full military honors being offered by Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
