David A. Lorek

David A Lorek, 78, of Fostoria, passed away at home Wednesday, August 27, 2025, after a lengthy illness.

He was born July 22, 1947, in Cleveland, to the late Albert and Helen (Wojslaw) Lorek.

He married Kathy Billow August 19, 1978, in Fremont, and she survives. They repeated their vows at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, February 3, 1990.

Also surviving are two sons, Kurt, Fostoria, and Ryan, Maryland.

David graduated from Eastlake North High School and Columbus College of Art and Design. He worked as a commercial artist and in the prepress departments of the former Gray Printing Company in Fostoria and the former Lesher Printers in Fremont.

David's love of the outdoors is reflected in the dozens of beautiful watercolors he painted, most of which feature landscapes or wildlife. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing and created his own LorVee walleye lures.

David was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and William.

Memorial visitation is from noon-1 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Hoening & Son Funeral Home, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, OH 44830, where a memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. with Deacon David Schiefer presiding. A lunch and gathering will follow in the funeral home reception area.

Private burial at Fountain Cemetery will take place at a future date.
