Cora Mansour Obituary

Cora Lee Mansour

Cora Lee Mansour, 87, formerly of Fostoria, passed away Friday, April 5, 2024, in Grand Blanc, Michigan.

Cora was born Oct. 18, 1936, in Sacramento, California, to Loren and Mary Ellen Mosier. She graduated from C. K. McClatchy High School where she participated in various sports and was a proud member of the award-winning Harmonettes. As Cora studied to be a beauty operator, she worked at a theater where she met the love of her life, Khalil Mansour. They were married July 27, 1958, and had three sons. Kal and Cora later moved to Ohio and enjoyed 36 years of marriage.

Cora was a very lively, fun, and unique individual who always had a story to share. She lived in Fostoria for 40 years and sold Avon for 20 of those years, making fast friends with everyone she met. She was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the Red Hatters Club, the Garden Club, and many bowling leagues. Cora also had a wonderful sense of humor, finding fun in the simple things in life. Cora moved to Michigan in 2012 after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Cora continued to enjoy singing, going to the movies, playing bingo, and watching game shows. She was a natural born leader who always tried to help those around her. Cora's bold and memorable personality will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Cora is survived by her son, Dale (Martha); grandchildren, Jeremy, Miranda (Joey), Phillip (Linsey), Caitlyn, and Christian (Mackenzie); and great-grandchildren, Caleb, Claire, Cassidy, Amara, and Emerson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kal; two sons, Fareed and David; parents; brothers, Leo, James, and Billie; and sisters, Josephine, Margaret, Ellen, and Dorothy.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024, until the time of Cora's funeral at 12 p.m. at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830. The Rev. James Sharrett will preside. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Church of the Holy Family (memo line: Outreach Program), 11804 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan, 48439.
