Beverly Ann (Driggs) Beck
Beverly Ann (Driggs) Beck, 76, departed this earth to her Heavenly home Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Bev was born Oct. 6, 1945, in Fostoria, to James King and Ruth Ellen (Breidigan) Driggs. She was a 1964 graduate of Fostoria High School. She married Thomas Wayne Beck on July 18, 1964, at St. Paul's Methodist Church in
Monroe, Michigan.
Bev had many jobs in her life, including the Ketchup factory in Bloomdale, Kroger in Fostoria, Clinton Twp Schools in Michigan, and at Fostoria City Schools.
Tom and Bev moved to Florida in 2017 where they enjoyed many years together. They made sure to have their Friday date "night" every week; out at 11 a.m. and home by 2. Bev was very active. She walked and worked out most days and enjoyed playing corn hole with her friends. Flowers and plants brought her joy and you could find her lovingly tending to them daily. She enjoyed going out on the lake with Tom on their boat. One of their favorite spots on the lake was The Hide Away where they could get lunch and a cocktail. She loved music. She'd rather have music playing than the TV on any day and she had a great love for Ohio State Buckeyes. You could hear her cheering them on every game day. Her greatest love and joy in life though was her family.
Bev is survived by her husband, Tom, of 58 years; three daughters, Dawn McGowan (Larry Hansen), Darla (Eric) Alexander, and Doreen (Michael) Kreais, all of Wayne; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Zach) Hathaway, Joshua McGowan, Jasmine (Eric) Gibson, Andrew (Katie) Alexander, Liz (Nate) Dean, Samantha Kreais (Brock), Josie Alexander (Juss), and Colleen Kreais (Anthony); 11 great-grandchildren, Jade, Ethan, Layla, Tim, Jordan, Cara, Mason, James, Antoinette, George, and Hannah; sister, Jane (Vincent) Quickle; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruth; three brothers, Randall Driggs, Ronnie Driggs, and David Driggs; and sister, Nancy Yontz.
Bev's family would like to thank the staff at Wood County Hospital and Bridge Hospice of Bowling Green for the excellent care Bev received, as well as her entire family.
Bev's celebration of life will be 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at Church of the Good Shepherd near Wayne with Pastor Ray Getter Officiating. Bev loved her Buckeyes, so we ask for everyone to wear their favorite Ohio State attire in her honor.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday at the church.
All arrangements have been entrusted to Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne.
Online condolences may be sent to Bev's family at
