Armando Cantu Obituary
Armando Cantu Sr., 71, of Wayne, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, surrounded by his loving family at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Bowling Green, Ohio.
He was born Sept. 6, 1951, in Mercedes, Texas, to Jose and Maria (Guerra) Cantu Sr. Armando married Christina Cardenas in 1975 at Wayne Church of Christ and they later divorced.
Armando is survived by his children, Carmella (Craig) Turnow of Lindsey, Amanda Cantu of Fostoria, Armando Cantu Jr. of Fostoria, and Marjorie M. Cantu of Defiance; longtime companion, Mary Rader; grandchildren, Cameron Balderson, Camara and Crayton Turnow, and Ariana Dupont; brother, Antonio Garza of Chicago, Illinois; and sister, Yolanda Cantu of Bowling Green.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Maria; brothers, Jose Cantu Jr. and Roy Cantu; and sisters, Rachel Gonzales and Ofelia Villarreal.
Armando was a graduate of Elmwood High School and then worked many years at the former Union Carbide in Fostoria. Among many hobbies over the years, he enjoyed gardening, cooking and grilling, yard work, and being outdoors. His greatest love in life was spending time with his family.
Friends will be received 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne. Armando's celebration of life service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bradner Cemetery.
