November 21, 1940 - August 25, 2025
Shirley A. Adams, 84, of rural Cairo, went to her Heavenly home on Monday, August 25, 2025 with her loving family by her side.
Celebration of Life Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 28th at Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo. Reverend Brian Wright will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Cairo. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church. Memorials are suggested to either Cairo Quick Response Team or to the family for future designations.
All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Shirley was born November 21, 1940, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Edna Genevieve (Bueoy) Moore. She graduated from Smithland High School in 1958 and Ellis School of Cosmetology in 1959.
On January 28, 1961, Shirley was united in marriage to Roger Adams. This union was blessed with children, Bradley, Dennis, Lisa and Darren. The family moved to a farm SW of Cairo in 1972. Shirley is a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Some of her enjoyments included crocheting, reading and gardening. Her greatest joy was being a grandma.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 64 years, Roger; children, Bradley (Nancy) Adams of Cairo, Dennis Adams (Joni Kusek) of Dannebrog, Lisa (Gary) Harders of Wood River, and Darren (Charity) Adams of Cairo; grandchildren, Jacob (Amy) Adams, Joshua (Lindsey) Harders, Tiffany Harders, Benjamin (Katelyn) Adams, Kristen Harders, Lindsay (Josh) Suchanek, Hannah (Nic) Adams-Meza, Riley Adams and McLain Adams; and great-grandchildren, Knox, Joslin, Olivia, Zoey, Braxton, Paisleigh and Walker. Other survivors include Shirley's siblings, Sharon Moore of Wall Lake, Iowa, Michael (Deb) Moore of Des Moines, Iowa, and Sandra Banta of Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Lucas Adams; and brother, Randy Moore.
