Hiram Ayala-Oquendo Obituary

Hiram Ayala-Oquendo, age 69, of Erie, entered into Heaven's Gates on Thursday, December 22, 2022. He was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on August 16, 1953, son of the late Jose Ayala and Genoveva Oquendo.

Hiram was previously employed at Fairview Nursery. He enjoyed caring for his plants, playing dominoes, wrestling, sitting in the yard feeding the chickens, coloring in his later years and spending time with friends and family.

In addition to his parents, Hiram was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Ayala-Oquendo. He is survived by his daughters, Nerissa Ayala-Oquendo and Sabrina Santiago (Danny); his sons, Hiram Ayala-Oquendo (Jen), Carlos Ayala-Oquendo (Kristie), Jesse Ayala-Oquendo, and Jeremy Ayala-Oquendo (Tori); his grandchildren, Adyn, Ava, Haleigh, Izabella, Teagan, and Aliana; as well as many sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at LECOM Senior Living Center who developed a special relationship with Hiram.

Friends and family may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Monday from 5 pm until the time of the Funeral Service there at 7 pm conducted by Chaplain David Miles. An interment will be held Tuesday at Lakeside Cemetery at 11 am.
