Thomas Calmes Obituary
Thomas D. Calmes, 91, of Fostoria, died at 12:25 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
Thomas was born Nov. 13, 1932, in Fostoria, to the late Joseph N. and Lucille C. (Schmitz) Calmes, who preceded him in death. He married JoAnn Etzinger on May 29, 1952, at Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, and she preceded him in death Nov. 14, 1995.
Thomas is survived by a son, Thomas R. Calmes of Findlay; daughter, Rebecca J. (Kim) Stevens of Fostoria; grandson, Jason M. Stevens of Arizona; and granddaughter, Malee Stevens.
Thomas belonged to St. Wendelin Catholic Church and served our country in U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked 42 years as a top pressman at Gray Printing Company before retiring. He also was a member of various groups including Amvets, American Legions, and VFW to name a few. He loved his family, eating out, his car, and his Hawaiian shirts. He will be terribly missed.
Private family services will take place.
Memorial contributions may be considered to Shriners Hospital for Children.
Arrangements are being handled by Hoening & Son Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Tommy and Becky, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Tom. Having all of us grow up on Tiffin Street is such a good memory and knowing Uncle Tom was one of the best things with us all living so close together. I am sorry for the loss of your father
