Susan Hall Obituary

Susan Marie and Lester Connie Hall

Susan Marie (Taylor) Hall, 71, and her husband, Lester Connie "Les" Hall, 73, of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, died as a result of a traffic accident Saturday, June 29, 2024.

Sue was born Nov. 16, 1952, in Bellevue, to Wilbur Joseph Taylor and Rosemary (Ruffing) Taylor. The family later settled in Tiffin. Sue graduated from Calvert High School in 1971 and later Bowling Green State University School of Nursing. She retired from St. Francis Home in Green Springs.

Les was born Aug. 21, 1950, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to Raymond Cecil Hall and Verlie (Jones) Hall. A few years later, the family moved to Clyde. Les graduated from Clyde High School and briefly attended Ohio University. He returned to Clyde and worked for Whirlpool Corporation. They were married Jan. 12, 1973. Les and Sue loved the outdoors and started out their married life together in southern Idaho, exploring all over the west, fishing, camping, hiking, hunting, and motorcycling. After their sons were born, they moved back to Ohio to be nearer to family.

In 2007 after their boys were out of college and settled in the west, Les and Sue both retired and moved back to Idaho. They found several acres on a mountaintop in northern Idaho where they built a home. They enjoyed exploring the west with their camper and visiting their children, family, and friends.

Les and Sue are survived by their sons, Matt and Andy; Andy's wife, Beth (Toombs); and granddaughters, Aubrie and Kailynn. Sue is also survived by her sisters, Chris Gottschalk and Cathy (Bob) Swenson; and brothers, Tom and Pat Taylor. Les is also survived by his sister, Wyvonnie (Carl) Maines.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Linda Taylor; and brother-in-law, Dave Gottschalk. Les was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kimberly Dyson-Barrett; and brother, E. Ronnie Hall.

Their remains will be returned to Ohio where a private remembrance will take place from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at 2720 County Rd 198, Fremont. A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m.

My sister, Sue, I remember as one who fiercely defended her family, was proud of her sons, took joy in her travel experiences, practiced self care by walking daily and trying to eat well, prided herself in maintaining her home and flower gardens and supported her friends. I always said she could have been a "travel consultant", as she was very knowledgeable of the areas she visited and had a great memory for describing them. I miss her as my older sister and friend. I worked with Sue at St Francis in Green Springs for many years. My husband worked with Les at whirlpool. she was always very professional but still managed to find time to laugh and have a good time. We heard a lot of stories of their travels. Our thoughts are with her boys! So sorry to hear the sad news. Don and Monica Tusing
