Steven Sertell Obituary
Our one and only brother and uncle, Steve, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at Bridge Hospice in Bowling Green.
After graduating from St. Wendelin High School in 1968, Steve moved to New York City where he eventually met his husband, John BelCastro. Steve managed a sports bar in Greenwich Village for many years and also sold commercial real estate. After John died in 2020, Steve decided to move back to Fostoria to be closer to family and friends. Unfortunately, we did not have long enough to enjoy his company.
In addition to his love of travel, Steve loved his Bloody Marys, margaritas, and a good game of euchre, often without remembering who his partner was or what was trump.
Steve was born to Richard K. and Dolores M. (Brinkman) Sertell on June 15, 1950.
He leaves behind his sister, Cathy Williams; stepbrother, Mike Kaufman; stepsister, Terry Rumschlag; nieces, Lori Williams and Kelly (Michial) Johnson; nephew, Eric (Dawn) Williams; great-nieces, Tasha (Landon) Witt, Breanna (Aaron) Scarberry, and Azia King; great-nephews, Shawn (Audra) Williams, Brandon (Tiffani) Williams, Alex (Rose) Frey, Dillon Williams, and Brayden (Max) Sliker; and many great-great-nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by many old friends and new acquaintances.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; husband, John; brother-in-law, Ron Williams; stepsister-in-law, Carol Kaufman; and great-great-nephew, Zeppelin Witt.
Per his wishes, Steve will be cremated and there will be no services.
Memorial contributions are suggested to a local Humane Society, Bridge Hospice, or Fostoria Sharing Kitchen in care of Hoening & Son Funeral Home, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830.

So sorry to hear about Steve´s passing. I am glad that I had the opportunity to talk with him at our 55th class reunion this past summer. May God comfort you during this difficult time.
