Sharon Kay Wonderly

Sharon Kay (Clark) Wonderly, 79, of Fremont, and previously of Fostoria, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Bethesda Care Center in Fremont. Sharon was born February 23, 1946, to Doris Louise (Kieffer) Clark and Carl George Clark at Fostoria Community Hospital. She was a 1964 Graduate of Fostoria High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in French and English from Bowling Green State University in 1968 and was a first-generation college student.

Sharon married Anthony Wonderly August 23, 1969, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria, and he survives. Sharon worked for Fremont City Schools for 30 years before retiring in 2002, where she taught French and English. She also enjoyed being a substitute teacher, and in her early teaching career, she taught summer school and night school.

Sharon had a love for French, reading, sudoku puzzles, knitting, crocheting, sewing and cooking. Sharon also enjoyed collecting antiques, specifically glass, porcelain, and Quimper. She loved traveling to France and Europe, and especially enjoyed traveling with her husband, Tony. People may describe her as strong, private and willing to help anyone.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 56 years, Anthony Wonderly of Fremont; children, Anthony James Wonderly of Columbus and Jennifer Anne Wonderly of Schaumburg, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH 43420.

Services will follow visitation at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Angel Trees, Shop with a Cop, Humane Society of Sandusky County, or Shriners Hospital.
