Sharon Shaferly Obituary

Sharon Kay Shaferly

Sharon Kay Shaferly, 86, of Fostoria, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria.

She was born Dec. 7, 1936, in Fostoria, to Donald and Elizabeth (Williams) Radcliff. Sharon married Donald E. Shaferly in 1955 at High Street United Methodist Church, Fostoria, and he preceded her in passing Dec. 26, 2021.

Sharon is survived by her son, Donald E. (Wanda) Shaferly II; daughters, JoLynn (Craig) Moore, Laurie (Chuck Sullivan) Shaferly, and Susan (Jerry) Goodman; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Elizabeth; loving husband, Donald; and daughter, Julia Ann Pearsall.

Sharon was a 1955 graduate of Fostoria High School and then thoroughly enjoyed spending her life as a homemaker and caring for her family. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Risingsun, and among many hobbies over the years, she had a passion for painting, had a green thumb with gardening, and had a love for animals, especially puppies. Her greatest love in life though was spending time with her family.

Per Sharon's request, no services will take place at this time.

Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association-Northwest Ohio Chapter, 480 W. Dussel Dr. #140, Maumee, Ohio, 43537.
