Scott R. Hedden

Scott R. Hedden, 64, of Fostoria, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. He was born April 15, 1961, in Fremont, to Ron & Ruth (Edinger) Hedden.

He is survived by his parents, Ron and Ruth Hedden; daughters, Erika Lowry of Lima and Christie Lowry of Kentucky; brother, Craig (Suzanne) Hedden of Texas; a sister, Wendy (Ken) Houck of Rawson; four nephews; two great-nephews; and a great-niece.

Scott was a 1979 graduate of Arcadia High School, was a musician and attended Cedar Creek Church in Findlay. Scott loved basketball, and it was always a great day when he would drive down to Columbus and we'd head over to the OSU rec center to spend hours playing pickup games. And while he might not have been so good at playing defense, that was because Scott was the guy you wanted taking the last shot to win a game. (And usually that's just what he did.)

Most people foolish enough to play Scott in ping pong down in the basement of his house along State Route 12 knew they were probably going to lose ... with one exception, his brother, Craig. Scott was really good, but Craig was really, really, REALLY good.

So whenever Scott did manage to beat him, even he would admit that Craig was probably just being nice.

Scott was always ready to help out whenever you needed a favor, and then was just as quick to take the blame when things didn't go quite as planned. Like the time he let someone borrow his dad's car for a 1979 prom night (without, somehow, mentioning this to Ron), and the next day, saying that the "missing gas cap" surely must have been his fault. That was true friendship.

Memorial visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be private at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia.
