Scott W. Hall
Scott W. Hall, 64, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Oct. 10, 1958, in Fostoria, to Wilbur and Carol (Luman) Hall, who preceded him in death. He married Lori A. Reinbolt on June 10, 1988, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, and she survives in Tiffin.
Scott is also survived by two sons, Brooks (MacKenzie) Hall of Fostoria and Brady (Lauren) Hall of Fostoria; three grandchildren, Roland, Walker, and Callen Scott Hall; and two brothers, Jeff (Kitty) Hall of Fostoria and Eric Hall of Chicago, Illinois.
Scott was a 1977 graduate of Fostoria High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Miami University, Oxford, and master's degree in education from University of Toledo. Scott was a retired teacher, school administrator, and was a current coach and Pastor. He taught at Fostoria High School for 20 years and was a principal at Vanlue and Hopewell-Loudon Schools. He coached high school golf and jr. high basketball at New Riegel School and was passionate about teaching golf to the next generation.
Scott was a life-long member of Wesley United Methodist Church where he grew in his faith teaching Sunday School and eventually accepting the role as Co-Pastor in June, 2022. He also served as co-Pastor at High Street United Methodist Church in Fostoria, Amsden United Methodist Church, and Shiloh United Methodist Church in Helena. His most memorable sermons were on the topics of forgiveness and loving one another. But his happy place was Chaplain at Wesley Center Day Care where he shared the love of Jesus with the children and staff.
Scott enjoyed playing golf, swimming, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, a caring involved father, and for loving his family and friends so well. He was known as "the fun commissioner" by his friends and planned many golf outings and memorable "mystery" experiences. Another happy place for Scott was driving his Mustang convertible with his cherished wife, Lori, beside him.
His family would like to share a final message from Pastor Scott which he identified as his life verse. "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)
Memorial visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830.
