Ronald A. McClellan

Ronald Allen McClellan, 75, of Fostoria, passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, from complications of lung cancer at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Sept. 10, 1947, in Fostoria, to Levi and Edith (King) McClellan. He married Linda Rae Risner on July 7, 1984, in Fostoria.

He is survived by his wife, Linda McClellan; daughters, McKenna (Kevin) Durst and MaCauley Slone; son, Marcus (Kitty) McClellan; five grandchildren; brothers, Rich (Sherry) McClellan, Chuck (Pam) McClellan, Johnny (Annette) McClellan, and Bryan (Elizabeth) McClellan; and sister, Kathy Falter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Diane Gee and Donna McClellan; and grandchild, Grayce Durst.

Ron retired in 2006 from Gray Printing, Fostoria. He was a 1965 graduate of Fostoria High School and earned his bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University. He was an U.S. Army veteran during Vietnam and member of MENSA.

Ronald's funeral will be 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to Kaubisch Library in memory of Ron's quintessential thirst for knowledge.

I am sorry to hear of Ron's passing. He was a strong, intelligent, funny man with a king-sized handshake who could recite from memory many famous poems and words of wisdom. Condolences to Linda and the family.

Ron was such a fun and loving man. He was so kind and loving to everyone lucky enough to know him. He will be missed by so many people. I am sending love and prayers to Linda, his children and his entire family. God be with all of you.

Ron had such a brilliant mind and there was no one who could raise your spirits better than Ron. He brought out the best in everyone. It is so difficult to imagine that he will no longer be smiling and encouraging and hugging! He gave the best hugs! My heart goes out to Linda and his family. My prayers for your comfort and wellness!
As long as we remember, Ron's spirit will remain with us!

Ron was an amazing man who loved his family so much. He was like a dad to all of his daughters friends. I will always remember his life advice and sense of humor. All of my love is with the family during this very difficult time.
