Robert D. Swartz

Robert D. Swartz, 59, of Fostoria, passed away at 4:03 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023, at his home.

He was born June 7, 1963, in Upper Sandusky, to Boyd Jon and Edith (Skipper) Swartz Sr. Robert married Vicki Thomas in 1981and they later divorced. He then married Robin Daughenbaugh in 2001 and they too divorced in 2010.

Both survive him along with his daughter, Bobbi (Alex) DeLaRosa of Holland; siblings, Teresa Shimberg of Lake Wales, Florida, Rick (Lisa) Swartz, of Garrett, Indiana, Beverly (Bernie) Snyder of Lima, Sarah Smith of Fostoria, Barbara (Tony) Corfman of McCutchenville, Carolyn Ferguson of Fostoria, and Rocky Swartz of Fostoria; and four grandchildren, Joseph, Terrence "CJ," Aneeyah, and Reniyah ("double and trouble").

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Boyd Swartz; stepson, Michael Kreais Jr.l and significant other, Diane Miller.

Robert served in U.S. Army and was stationed in Ft. Hood, Texas, and in Germany where he was a motor transport operator. He worked for Norton Manufacturing/NSI Crankshaft for 20 years where he served as a machine operator. It was during this time that he received his certificate in Productive Maintenance from Terra Community College.

In his leisure, Robert enjoyed riding his pride and joy, his Harley. He also enjoyed holidays and spending time with his family.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2023, at MANN-HARE-HOENING Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria. Robert's funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery with military honors provided by Fostoria United Veterans.
