Richard Teeple Obituary

Richard R. "Dick" Teeple

Richard R. "Dick" Teeple, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023.

Richard was born and raised in Bradner. He was a proud member of the community and served as mayor of Bradner.

He honorably served our country in U.S. Marine Corps from 1956-1962. During his time in service, he was stationed on Paris Island, Okinawa, and Philippines.

Richard graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1971 with a degree in education. He taught at Emerson Middle School, Fostoria. Summers were spent as a white water raft guide for North American River Runners WV.

He paddled almost every white water river east of the Mississippi and hiked to many peaks in the Rocky Mountains. His love of the outdoors was in close competition with talking to people in coffee shops around the country during his life adventures.

He was preceded in death by his parents; previous spouse, Rose Hoffman; brother, Harry Teeple; sister, MaryEllen Keller; and grandchild, Emma Halsey.

Richard's memorial gathering will be 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, at Bradner Preserve, 11491 N. Fostoria Road, with military honors rendered at 3:30 p.m.
